  • Man, love the sound. I'm torn between the Megan catback and the Remus for my cooper. Remus is about $200 more though...and I can't find a non-s clip for it.

Is there much highway drone on the megan? Looks like my best bet.

I might even go with the OBX header and just have my OEM cat welded on.

I just don't want an exhaust that screams "aftermarket" or "ricey"

  • on the fwy, you cant even tell that there is an aftermarket exhaust. the drone while driving with normal 3krpm and on the fwy is pretty quiet. but since i have this megan exhaust AND an afe intake, at rpms any higher than 4500 this car sounds like a roaring lion. at normal driving, its subtle and quiet and completely un-noticeable. but when you push the pedal down it's a beast on 4 wheels

  • Thanks for the info man. I guess I'm sold then. Kinda sounds like how a muscle car would sound if it were made by japan.

    But, still sounds nice.

How's your MINI holding up coolguy? You like it?

  • my mini is great man, and i love it. do you drive a mini?

  • Sure do. 02 Cooper. I love it as well. How long have you had yours? Are you on NAM?

  • i;ve had my R50 since august of 2008, bought it used. yeah im on NAM but im usually never posting there. i stopped posting and reading on NAM, but im really always on M|U a lot.

  • hey man, i drive an 03 cooper base myself and am looking to make a little modifications to give it a little extra kick, considering a cold air intake but also a megan exhaust. any tips? did you put in the exhaust yourself?

  • Oh ok cool. I need to make a M|U account. Huge NAM member though.

So, no problems with the midlands? You thinking about the 6speed swap? I've thought about it but not sure.

  • sounds good if you ever do decide to do those mod's post it up :D

  • thanks, JDMYOOO! :]

yep i still got the stock header with cat. my exhaust is a cat-back which is just the midpipe and the axle-back.

i'm trying to save up money for a header WITH a cat on it that won't throw codes and can still pass smog. haha.
