Two teams (Boise, Idaho and Manchester, England) have come for a short missions trip. During Friday evening's event, the Boise Team shared a powerful drama skit and the Manchester Team shared their talents with Christian rap, aimed specifically at the youth among the crowds gathered in "Mercato" Square, in Frascati. By God's grace alone, the message got through to some teens and one took the very welcome step, right then and there, in accepting Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Her two friends also expressed interest and stayed throughout the evening to talk with us. A woman, before the show, had many questions and although she had to leave without seeing the teams perform, she gladly received our tracts and was more than happy to hear that our small church was just around the corner. She came to the following Sunday service !! A few of our friends, whom we had invited, were also visibly moved by what they heard and saw... these outreach events seem to reach people in a way that is different from simply talking to them on an every-day-friend basis. Not that our friends will come to Christ only through such events... they will most definitely be attracted to Jesus most often through our daily testimony of a godly life... but these events are amazing. They allow us to share in a bolder and more purposeful way, one that may not always be appropriate or welcome in our daily relationships.
I, for one, am immensely thankful and grateful for these missions trips !! God bless you guys and your servant's hearts !!
Due gruppi (uno da Boise, Idaho negli Stati Uniti e l'altro da Manchester in Ingilterra) sono venuti per alcuni giorni a partecipare in quello che, in inglese chiamiamo, "Missions Trip", cioé per poter servire in evangelizzazione, testimonianze o in qualsiasi modo utile e fruttifero. Venerdì sera abbiamo avuto un concerto dove il gruppo di Boise ha recitato un sketch molto commovente e potente che raccontava l'opera di Gesù. Il gruppo di Manchester ha condiviso con noi il "rap" Cristiano. Questi "show" erano indirizzati in particolare ai giovani nella piazza, ma tutti, piccoli e grandi erano molto felici di vederci. Inoltre, i nostri amici invitati erano toccati in un modo speciale dall'evento. Certo che dobbiamo mostrare ai nostri amici una vita che tiene il Signore al primo posto nella nostra vita, e per la maggior parte, sarà questo fatto che rende Dio più attraente a loro, ma gli eventi di questo genere hanno un modo particolare di raggiungerli e parlare ai loro cuori. Anche noi, ci sentiamo un po' più coraggiosi e zelanti nel condividere il messaggio di salvezza in questi occasioni che non è sempre pratico o accettato nei nostri rapporti giornalieri. Gloria a Dio, è soltanto per la Sua grazia che una ragazza di 15 anni ha accettato Gesù come il Suo Salvatore ed anche due dei suoi amici hanno mostrato interesse. Sono rimasti con noi tutta la sera per parlare ed assistere nel concerto. Un'altra donna ha voluto rimanere, ma avendo bisogno di lasciarci, ha chiesto del nostro locale ed era più che contenta di sapere che la nostra chiesa ci stava vicina. Due giorni dopo è venuta a trovarci per il nostro culto domenicale !! Che Dio ci benedica secondo il Suo piano perfetto !!
Sono molto ma molto grata per i gruppi che ci visitano. Che il buon Signore li benedica e far aumentare sempre di più i loro cuori aperti al servizio !!
