@Florr07 it can. The thing is that it has to be sugary. you could use agave, splenda, sugar... anything you want. although agave ans honey might alter the flavour a bit

try putting some sliced ripe cantaloupe and coarsely chopped pecans before driking for Oaxaca style horchata. Or add some sweet coconut milk-cream (that's tha way they drink it at the pacific coast)

thumbs down for long ass boring comercial, get a hair cut u forskin liking homo.

Thanks for the recipe, but could you please go into more detail as to the measured portions that you threw into the stuff? I just find it kind of annoying when someone says "Here's a recipe! Add some of this stuff and you get this!" How MUCH milk? How much cinnamon? How much sugar? Etc. As it is I went with Mr. RockBalboa211's recipe over yours as it had actual portions of ingredients measured out. Thanks!

Recipe is completly wrong. Sorry.

@ska7er96: It depends.. There are many different types of Horchata. Every single state of Mexico has a different variation of (rice drink) Horchata. Spain and other South American countries make their horchata with seeds/nuts rather than rice. My grandmother makes horchata with both milk and water. The recipe I listed is the one I use because some of my family can't have dairy products. Personally, I like the recipe with milk that my grandmother does more though.

@RockyBalboa211 thanks i thought it was milk not water cuz it was white lol im stupid but nice method im going to try that

key to any mexican flavored drink is sugar.

I wonder if all that sugar could be replaced with agave..?

@Chinis1613 What's wrong with your fucking attitude? Is everyone suppose to look the way YOU want them to? Fuck you for wanting everyone to look how YOU want people to look. Learn2realize that when people are different they are much more better that way/less boring. Besides when you have a definition and usage of the word "normal" it is much more altered by others' perspective which is why what you said makes me want to say, NO
Personally, I like to place the 11/2 cups of white rice and 4 cups of water into a large bowl, and let the rice soak overnight. Then I place the rice and water in the blender for 1 or 2 mins. Pour it into a mesh so to take the rice out as it goes into a bowl. Then I stir in the Cinnamon (1/2 tsp), Sugar (1/3 cup), and Vanilla Extract (1 1/2 tsp) (Plus add 2 more cups of regular water) while stirring. Then Chill! :D

@09wukd1 Coleslaw?! Hm, I don't know if it will happen, but here's how I make mine: Red Cabbage sliced really thinly, carrots also shredded, and some sliced chard, then some white wine vinegar, sugar, salt, mayo, salt, pepper, dill, hot sauce, and celery seeds. Boom!
