SofS follows it's predecessor at Barbon, the shortest and most beautiful hillclimb in the UK. My best time of 34.42 seconds is 52mph over 890 yards - the alltime record was set just this last May, when Scott Moran won the Barbon Star in a Gould GR61X in 20.5 seconds - 88.8mph, on average!
Barbon is on the edge of the pennines, looking towards the Lake District fells. Despite being an important motorsport venue, most of the year it is farmer's field, and the June, 'B' meeting still has an old time air, with many clasics of hillclimb entered. Son of Silverback was in exhalted company.
