I saw these two streaks in the sky, possibly meteorites or space debris (?). Damn my digital camera's limited focus range and 1 minute at a time recording!

  • Indeed meteors usually move at about 10 to 20 km/s, giving you only about 10 seconds to see them before they hit the ground. Though, meteors have been seen to pass through the atmosphere and escape back into space, that would give you a little more time.

  • Yeah, seems that is something I didn't consider (metoerites moving so quickly). I've seen these coming back in the other direction the other day and have figured out that they are high altitude military aircraft from a base north-west of Brisbane. Still, it was kinda unusual.

  • between 2.55 pm til about 3.07, then they dissappeared behind the hills.

  • meteor?? NO meteor is much faster! uts just 2 planes

  • Too slow for meteorites and space junk. Plus different flights. Therefore they probably are aeroplanes
