outstanding...no question. but did you use some sorta plugin for the particle fx like fume fx for 3ds max? and why combustion for the compositing and not ae?
sorry for the late response...no plugins..just hypervoxels in Lightwave and Maya Fluids mixed in. Combustion is what we use at Zoic Studios..trust me, it is not my favorite to put it mildly. Thanks for the comment!
We use after Effects too..and Shake...and Fusion. I prefer Fusion or Nuke myself. So far as AE..try working with a 700 layer comp in it...you won't be able to. Some of the space shots we did had 700 layers. I'm not a fan of combustion, but because it "imitates' node compositing, it is much easier to keep track of all your layers in a massive comp like we had...and it was on hand at the time.
good to know. thx again. last question: if you should choose the ultimate compositing software, would it be fusion or nuke?

Nuke..even though I know Fusion much better...Nuke has some pretty amazing tools that Fusion does not.

Thx for your response. But WHY exactly do you use combustion over there and not the more intuitive After Effects?
