09:09 - no love for Federer :)

@nuncjusz1 Never. Sampras traded no.1 with many players during his time. He managed to finish no.1 in year end race for 6 years consecutively because at his time no one can win 2 slams a year, only sampras could win up to 2 each year. So his seeding for grand slams were always traded.

@Mirren81 wear and tear

@davd1986 Definitely. I think the knee went on him in 2005. However, I think this guy received some bad advice in his career fitness wise. Just my guess.
-
@Polarcupcheck He had numerous injuries. Especially in 2003 and 2005.

So hard to say what happened with Safin. His movement in 98' was wonderful; it looked like Miloslav Mecir. Then it started looking more choppy. He improved his serve, as you see here, but his ability to cover the court, and that ability to just keep throwing tough balls at the opponent dissapeared. It seemed like nothing bothered Safin early in his career. I remember watching him play Guga and AGassi in 98', and they could rattle him. Same with Sampras in 20000, Pete couldn't shake him.

@JesterToy Well the ponytail reminds me of the days when he was young and his game was flourishing, reminds me of deadliness haha, jsut look at his results in 2004

the enxt year they had THE MATCH

Only if Safin wouldve changed his style and be better with his backhand and adapt to the better players weaknesses but he was stubborn and therefore wasted his talent that i believe was as good as Federer in those early days
-
IMO federer was a far better player thosedays than he is now
I think Roger's current image looks fantastic! :) Much better than the ponytail days.

Well, some people like the ponytail, some like his hair short like it is now.
I personally prefer how he looks these days...more 'grown-up'. :)
