For nearly three decades the Berlin Wall was the symbol of the Cold War; it divided a city and in effect the entire country. And then on November 9th, 1989 it crumbled and with it Communist East Germany. It was a key event on the path to ending the Cold War. Reporting from Berlin, VOA's Sonja Pace looks at events of 20 years ago, what led to them and what they mean today.

  • If only North Korea's Stalinist regime could fall just as easily, maybe then the world would be just a tiny bit more peaceful.
