Institutionalized Hate Against The Homeless In Maui PART TWO.wmv

Two visiting, African-American graduate students were included in a round-up that is devised to drive out the homeless from Maui. One student has a Master of Arts Degree in Evangelism and Church Planting while she is also completing a second Master of Religious Education. The second student is a Masters candidate, completing the Master of Divinty. They are both seminary students. The two graduate students are homeless.

They have been visiting Maui for over a year. During their extended visit to Maui, they became homeless. Now, along with all the other homeless, they have been repeatedly refused services and kicked out of a variety of business establishments that exclude the homeless.

Maui is using institutionalized discrimination and hate to block the homeless from receiving services in areas designated as high tourists locations. Maui is also blocking the homeless from participating as visitors to the University of Hawaii.

This video documents the graduate students being evicted from visiting the University of Hawaii campus. The graduate students suspect that they were singled out as homeless and pursuant to that discovery, a letter was written to have them evicted from the campus grounds. While visiting the campus on a Saturday to complete homework assignments, the graduate students were approached by a campus security guard who called the Maui Police Department. They then proceded to have the homeless, graduate students banned from the university for one year.

This is why the homeless here in Hawaii are such a pain in the ass-entitlement.

This isnt a public park. This is a college and you are not students-YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS THERE.

If you want to study, go to a park or somewhere else.

This isnt a "Public University"-its a community college. Even if it were, you cannot stay there all day.

Stop defending yourselves. You are homeless and have no right to be there. This is MCC not the Holiday Inn.

This video is a joke.

First of all, MCC is not a "public university" but a Community College.

Iam a graduate of UH-WO. I have a BA from the school. I dont go out to UH-Manoa and hang out on the campus every weekend. It would be inappropriate since Iam not a student at that campus-even though Iam a graduate of the UH system of colleges.

Second, you complain about hate but there is no hate experienced here other than from you and your mother. The security guard was polite not angry or nasty.
