I do a decent amount of commuter and recreational cycling. So when I recorded a recent morning commute I was expecting to encounter bad drivers -- which I did. But I also came upon these two young ladies near USC (University of Silly Cyclists?) going the wrong way shoulder-to-shoulder in the bike lane. Fantastic!

And speaking of things I REALLY despise: By all means I don't mind mouth-breathing trolls spouting their hateful ignorance as long as they don't mind that I'll spare the thread their loathsome stupidity and keep their laughably idiotic and worthless keyboard poundings just between them and my inbox. I'm all for dialog and communication, but flamers get blocked and their misspelled mostly mono-syllabic rants get the delete key dictatorially pressed with my middle finger and without a second thought.

  • Stastistics in Sweden show that women 20-50 is the most accident prone group of cyclist. They also are most likely to disregard traffic regulation. Going the wrong way, cycling on sidewalks, not using lamps when dark etc. Messengers and commuters may look as if they are taking risks, but the risks are calculated and most of the time under control. The typical female cyclist cruises ahead in her own little universe and ends up in front of a car or on the inside of a lorry turning right.

  • @Skarre2 Those "statistics" you mention (but don't specifically cite) may show what you say they do, but such conclusions and your further broad presumptive generalizations about the "typical female cyclist" deflect from the importance of all cyclists -- regardless of age, sex, or skill leve -- l to be responsible on the streets.

  • Well I "hate" paying tax, but only on on a specific group of taxes, not taxing as a whole.

Doesn't make any sense does it.

  • @mcake1234 Actually given my initial explanation of differentiation, I find that your disdain for specific taxes instead of all taxes to make perfect sense.

  • @brandeezy108 I think gavtatu is differentiating between casual cyclists and dedicated cyclists. For what it's worth, I don't segregate cyclists along those lines, in part because responsible and considerate cycling is everyone's responsibility regardless of why one rides or how often.

  • @gavtatu huh?

  • i love cyclists.....i hate people on bikes !

  • Woman :D

  • @mcake1234 Please read the headline again in hopes you'll comprehend that I "hate" on a specific group of cyclists, not cyclists as a whole.

  • you hate cyclists ? what were you doing in that cycling lane ?
