THIS SHOW WAS GREAT BACK IN THE DAY, AND WHO COULD FORGET BATGIRL? WOW!

This isn't Burt Ward's screen test. Note that by this scene here the Robin suit he is wearing was already tailored for him since he had already gotten the role. However look at Adam West's suit which is all baggy. Of course, Adam West complained about the suit being uncomfortable so he may not have worn it during rehearsals unless they padded him since we never saw his nips. lol

Batman has his cowl off in the batcave here, something which was hardly ever done in the show.

@Bobzeaux THE ORIGINAL 1939 DETECTIVE COMICS BATMAN HAD NO YELLOW CHEST AND USED GUNS. WHATS INTERESTING IS THAT HE SWITCHES BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN DIFFERENT THINGS AND LOOKS AND YOU NEVER GET A GOOD ESTABLISHMENT FOR WHAT THE CHARACTER FIRST ORIGINALLY LOOKED LIKE. FROM THE COVER TO THE PAGES. WHICH IS GOOD SINCE BATMAN HAS SO MANY INCARNATIONS LIKE SO MANY OTHER SUPER HEROES. I KEEP THINKING,"WE'RE NOT GONNA BE ABLE TO DO THIS ANYMORE". ANOTHER BATMAN,SUPERMAN,HULK 3 YEARS LATER,SPIDERMAN. DAM

That depends, because initially they wanted to make a movie starring Mike Henry, but since he was busy with a lawsuit with the Tarzan movie producers, the project turned into a TV show with Waggoner as the leading choice, as you pointed out.

Google image Burt Ward now, like 150 pounds later. Total example of just how long its been since Batman was on. Adam West looks the same, though, like Batman would look if he got old and grey.

hey, cool vintage bat emblem..
When they were on the show, Burt Ward(Robin) said that he put itching poweder in his costume, and that Adam(Batman) put his shoes in a freezer over night!!! That would be awesome to be on the set of that show.

I always preferred the yellow oval. It's more iconic, and it's bright & flashy enough to instinctively draw enemy gunfire to Batman's heavily armored chest.
But then you have to wonder why his BELT is yellow if the idea of the yellow chest is to attract bullets.... O_o
