  • ...only need one mediator between us and the Father, and that would be Christ! I hope I didn't ruffle anyone's feathers, but I've been a life-long Lutheran Christian, and have never heard that the saints(that includes the whole body of believers)are anything but alive in Heaven with a new, immortal body, free from all worldly strife, illness,+sin which was the curse of Adam.No offense to Pastor Lassman, but I think in his attempt to teach us that we can pray straight to Christ, he over shot ABIT!

  • @womanwonder10 Hi......thanks for your comments...........I agree with just about everything you say here.........but you err in thinking that those who have died are "Iin Heaven with a new, immortal body...." Only their soul (which is alive) is with Christ in Heaven, their body is lifeless and buried. They will not get their new immortal body until Jesus returns and places their souls back into their body and raises their body from the dead. . The Lord be with you!

  • NOTE:

The Papists quote the Bible & Apocrypha in vain, seeking a proof text for LIVING SAINTS INVOKING DEPARTED SAINTS TO PRAY FOR THEM!

We Orthodox Lutherans of the Protestant Catholic Christian Faith believe, teach, and confess:

1.) That Holy Scripture only teaches that we should pray to God Alone.

2.) That the Holy Angels, and the departed saints in Paradise, pray for Christ's

Church in general -- but do not hear the Papists vain petitions.

3.) We pray to God FOR the departed saints.

  • @bobbyke31 OFLOL!

So I WIN, because you are unable to prove a negative speculation....and can only resort to pathetic ad hominem spasms! YOU HAVE NO BIBLICAL EVIDENCE! :D

  • @nschaub You are correct. I don't have to look it up in Luther's writings or ask my pastor. The words you've given here ring distinctively clear and true from my sometimes lacking memory. Thank you. I think if you would have said or explained it that way, it would have been hard to argue with. But, I know, how many times do I wish I could have said something better - after the fact. Hindsight is 20/20 (vision). Thanks again! God bless and keep you,and take care! Your vids are very fine!

  • I can only think that this Pastor was trying to say that they, that is, the saints who have passed from this life, to eternity with Christ, are dead as far as concerns the ability to hear and answer our prayers. Of course, if he believes what Luther taught, he knows those who die in Christ have passed on to Heaven where they are alive and gathered around their Savior and the Father. This, I can only surmise, was an attempt at emphasizing that they do not hear our prayers, for we only need one...

  • they are dead is not the case. the faithful departed in lord never died. they are the rightious people with the lord. there are saints. and they life can guide us and mary is one of the luckiest lady among the faithful. if christ is eterneal his body also eternal without physical challanges. if one loveones departed doesnot mean that our love infinity and that cannot be challange. they are there in heaven and in a spirtual form and has qualities there is not point pray to them but to remember.

  • @adamsaverian Amen brother in Christ. The saints can and do interceed for us and Paul taught that we should ask for intercessions. Its is saddening that so many do not realize that death in Christianity is actually a restoration of new life where those gone before us are still praying for us. Lets keep the family of Christ together.

  • @catchzz No, no. That's not at all what I was saying. I was just pointing out that this guys argument against praying to the saints is absurd. Furthermore, I was being cautious when I wrote this comment. I actually do believe in asking the saints to intercede for us, and I do it.

  • I am so blessed to have heard this message from this truly blessed brother...

  • @USAsoldier1955 (_/_) <----- Guess what that is? Yep! I just mooned ya! How does it feel to get an ass in the face? LOL!!!!!!!!
