This was a TERRIFIC hotel...the staff was nice, the room was beautiful, and the view from the tower suit(floor 18) was gorgous...4 the most part i disagree with almost everone who has commented something bad
@ashmantoronto HI , my brother and i stayed there in 2006 march time , the staff in general were rude, apart from the guys who open your cab door who always expected a tip!!! which i thought once a day was enough especially if you go out 3 or 4 times in a day like i did .. the only people who were nice to us were the low paid staff ie , waiters, maids , shop staff...
I've always dreamed of spending a night there! When I lived in San Francisco, my friend and I would always go in there, looking around. The ladies lounge had the most spectacular view of San Francisco. If I ever go back to San Francisco, I would find a way to spend the night there.
The concierge woman in The Fairmont SF needs to works in the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto to learn how the conceirge in Tornto Fairmont is repsectful and how to treat ppl the same way , there is no diff for poor and rich ....don't forgot that in California there is a lot of snob and arrogant ppl.
I'm sorry, but not every clientele at Fairmont is a rich businessman.
Come walks in 3 young people in the early 20s, and she eyed us like we weren't supposed to be there.
It didn't help either that my friend works for Fairmont so we get discounts, and she treated us like we were cheap! I'm sorry, but my buddy works for THEIR company, she gets the same perk as he does if she stayed in another Fairmont, so what gives?
Geat hotel where service is always a priority, rooms are clean and updated + Fairmont groups attention to detail.
