wow talk about bashing the brits, a few facts to dispell his myths, english empire not british, as the welsh,scots and irish people were not willing members of the union, it was called 'english' empire at the time(using 'england' for the whole of britain)englsih did not begin slavery, were first to abolish it, united states continued for years after, english supported a free indian state for the native peoples, united states didn't, you raped us financially after both world wars, truth hurts...?

For sure. He lays it down pretty thick on the Brits.
Still, judging by the number of illiterate yes-men coming out of colleges and universities these days, I dread to think what our nation is going to be like in 20-30yrs from now.
Sweeping generalisations aside, there are cultural aspects associated with it as well; but Lyn's assertion is certainly not without historical merit.
