Juries have trouble understanding the concept of reinsurance. The term itself is not one they have heard before. Further, the transactions that take place between insurance firms and reinsurance firms are both financially complex and often based on confusing coverage language. Not surprisingly, trial graphics often find their way into reinsurance litigation and aid greatly in juror or judge understanding.
