So you wish for women to pay for their abortions? I suppose that's somewhat fair, but then we might as well start forcing people to pay for attempts to cure their lung-cancer, after all they smoked and it was their fault. Or maybe we should make people pay for any accidents that were caused out of sheer stupidity (ie: hazardous drunken endeavours). After all, it wasn't the tax-payers' idea nor fault.
@Degazio How do we go from legality to state-funded? Thats all Im saying. The fact that it's state-funded in this country makes me ashamed to be a Canadian. We're supposed to be a free country.
@VoiceOfModeration ALSO, even if the law was changed and abortion was made illegal, it would be done in backalley clinics with coathangers by desperate women who are not ready to have a child.
Women have rights to choose whether they want to bring a child into this world or not. There should be a limit as to how many abortions a woman can have perhaps, but saying she must carry a child will result in an even larger population, not to mention resentment among women and MANY unwanted children.
The abortion debate has to be re-opened Mr Layton because the half of the country that disagrees with you on when life begins is coercively and extortionately forced into paying for abortion anyways through tax revenue (their opinion isn't respected). You're not pro-choice Mr Layton, you're pro-abortion. You don't support my "Choice" as a pro-life tax-payer.
Funny how everyone who is for abortion has already been born.

Ah I see, I misunderstood your point.

Where do you draw the line?
