Fremantle is a seaside city southwest of Perth. The citys port lies just where Swan River meets the Indian Ocean. Fremantle is well known for its vibrant lifestyle, nice restaurants and cafés along the so called Cappuccino stip. Every weekend theres a market going on in Fremantle Markets. Close to the Esplanade Park you'll find Little Creatures brewery where you can enjoy drinks and food within the actual brewery. Fremantle is about twenty minutes train ride from the city of Perth.

  • Gosnells, a city East of Perth Western Australia. Wait, the people of Gosnells know its just a suburb. Calling Freo a city is like calling Tasmania a country.

  • Fremantle is hole. Full of weirdos and freaks.

  • @roguequokka thankyou

  • @roguequokka everyones an idiot or a fool compared to you, aren't they mate ...... 'Fremantle doesn't have the hallmarks of a city'. One of the most important ports in Australia. A role in the WA economy that extends beyond the metro area. Strong cultural influences on WA life.... Now you may prefer that the whole metro area be identitfied under a homogenised Perth idenity but Fremantle in my view will always be a city, so lets end this in a civilised way and agree to disagree.OK

  • @suburbanbubbleheaded I didn't lecture you about Fremantle, I lectured you about Gosnells which you belittled as a drab, history-less suburban outpost which highlighted your own ignorance about WA history. Look up "parochialism" in the dictionary and discover why you sound like such an idiot. I never said anything bad about Fremantle - I simply said it doesn't have any hallmarks of city - and it doesn't! Get off your high-horse and stop carrying on like a sanctimonious child.

  • @roguequokka I respect that the fact that your paternal ancestor lived in Fremantle but YOU don't fucking lecture me about Fremantle. My family have lived continually in Fremantle since my father arrived in 1959.There are neighbours that have lived in the same neighbourhhod for 80 years. I know more stories about Fremantle than you have had cheeseburgers. Now fuck off to the McDonalds carpark with your mates and leave the rest of us in peace OK

  • @suburbanbubbleheaded "Little boy"? "McNuggets"? "West Coast Eagles"? Wow, all those assumptions and none of them right - quite the strike rate, genius! Gosnells' history dates back to the 1860's -but a "knowledgable" person like you would have known that already right? My own original paternal ancestor lived in Fremantle after arriving from Portsmouth and I'll wager I know a lot more about Fremantle's history than a parochially minded twit like you. Take a coke and a smile and shut the fuck up.

  • @roguequokka... the little kid that always needs to have the last word.

Now Fremantle is on par with Bassendean, South Perth, Cottesloe and such. Sonny, looks like you couldn't work out the difference between a man and a woman. Now sonny, you can go read a good book on Fremantle and then have an knowledgeable discussion or you can be a good little boy and buy your mcnuggets and go watch a west coast eagles football game. I know which one you''ll choose. That's all you lot understand.

  • @suburbanbubbleheaded Not what I said at all Mister Butthurt. At one time, it was an important and independent post of industry and trade - just like Midland was. NOW, it has been consumed by the suburban sprawl of greater Perth. It is not a city by any discernable standard. Sure, it has history but so does Bassendean, Gosnells, Subiaco, Guildford, South Perth, Cottesloe - and at one time, all these places were isolated from one another. Go to Bunnings, buy wood, build a bridge, get over it.

  • to say Fremantle is in the category of a suburban outpost like Gosnells highlights your ignorance. Fremantle is one of the most significant places in Australia; if you disagree go read a book about the history of Fremantle and learn something.

Suggesting Freo is just like a Gosnells or Joondalup where the only thing available are junkfood outlets and shopping malls, shows you have a long way to go before you understand what makes a place special.

  • @MrRealityCheck88 might i suggest a trip to northbrideg - or even midland I dare say.
