So this is the first song I ever put on YouTube in which I use open C tuning. It's a ton of fun to play around with and it sounds awesome, but I would like to say a few things about this video first.
I've only been messing around with Open C for a few days before I made this video, so as you can tell, it's very sloppy. Also, most of this is just improvisation. I still have yet to organize this into a complete instrumental. It has been over two weeks that this video has been on my computer, and I'm just oploading it now. It IS NOT finished at all, but it's pretty much the same as this video with some cooler things going on and less sloppiness since I'm still getting used to the Open C tuning. Other than the sloppiness, I hope you'll understand and ejoy it, because it's still decent in my opinion.
I would also like to say that I know it sounds a TON like John Butler...hence the name "Johnny." John Butler is very inspirational to me, and his song "Ocean" is so crazy, so I decided to make my own version of it and tribute it to him.
I'm in the process of recording a primitive acoustic album titled Reciprocity, and it will have a bunch of original songs on it. I hope to finish it by the end of this March, 2010 (which I doubt will happen) but I'll have a bunch of my songs on my purevolume page at
purevolume.com/BrandonEsteves
Hopefully you guys enjoyed this. There will be more original songs to come!
Sounds nice... but the vid is really dark. What's the inspiration for the song?

yeah I noticed YouTube made it darker than it normally was. I just wanted to make the video look warm and have a more relaxing feel.
But my inspiration comes from the John Butler Trio. I'm going to see them this June too, which is awesome!
