  • When the reaction base is at least a shoulder width and a half like the pros , a step out is ONLY efficient when making a "one step move" to hit like on an easy to reach return. In such a case the player is "Reacting to HIT" as opposed to reacting to MOVE. The "step out" is the slowest response when reacting to move because it doesn't establish upper body momentum in the direction of movement. Players tend to "step out" when their reaction base is too narrow to begin with. Hope that helps...

  • what? the step out has been known for a while now as the 1st step u should take

    u're showing in the 2nd exercise to do the cross step as the 1st step
