Indiana Smoking Ban just passed, exempted BARS! Mississippi refuses to pass a ban, period.

Three Kansas vending companies who service bars are reporting losses from jukeboxes and pool tables.

Add Holton's Pub, Lucky Dogs, Frances O'Dooley's, Sharkey's, Seabrook Tavern, and the Rock and Roll Bar to the list of closed businesses!!!!
-
Add the Crossroads Bar and Pat and Bros to the list of closed businesses! These were long term Wichita businesses, and Wichita allowed adults only venues the right to decide, before the State took that right away from the City!

Just read an interesting story on J&J's patches and gums. Says that they cause colic in babies. Harvard study says they do not work any better than cold turkey. But Kansas buys the patches and hands them out. I think the Parkinson administration set that up when he pushed for the ban. Wonder if he owns a boatload of J&J stock?

Chris won't bother responding because he CAN'T!!!!

CHris states "I won't worry about responding to every article in Ms. Martin's packet, but I will note that the first letter is from a Dr. Madden who claims to be a "member" of the American Cancer Society. As you know, ACS does not have members and there is no constituent record of a Dr. Madden." DR ROBERT MADDEN WAS A PRESIDENT OF THE NEW YORK CANCER SOCIETY!
And Dr Madden, when I spoke to him this morning, is VERY angry about this.

In 2001, Tobacco Free Ohio was awarded additional 3 year $1.37 million grant
by Robert Wood Johnson Foundation SmokeLess States Program to work on tobacco control policy throughout the state. The specific objectives were clean indoor air at the local level, increases in the state's cigarette taxes, and to increase the coverage for cessation services by health insurance plans. 2001, RWJF owned $5.46 BILLION DOLLARS in J&J stock. In 2006 J&J acquired Pfizer Home Health Care and Nicorette

"Tobacco Free Ohio was funded initially with a four year, $1.5 million grant from the Robert Wood Johnson SmokeLess States Program. The primary objective of the grant and Tobacco Free Ohio was to build tobacco control coalitions in order to advance all aspects of tobacco control.
The American Cancer Society acted as the fiscal agent for all Tobacco Free Ohio grants and all of the regional policy coordinators reported to a project director who was housed at the American Cancer Society."

Chris- let's be correct here. THe rest of the story is that J&J do not sell Chantix, they sell NIcoderm, Nicorette, NIcotrol, Nicoderm CQ. J&J do not "fund" the RWJF. RWJF operates on millions of shares of J&J stock. excerpt: "Recipient: American Lung Association, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association $99,000,000.00 This chapter describes SmokeLess States®: National Tobacco Policy Initiative, Chris said NO funds from RWJF to ACS
