  • Look up "Valery Legasov" on YouTube... you'll find plenty of videos.

  • No they did not. Legasov lived for two years after the accident until he killed himself. He was not sufferign from radiation sickness.

  • It's not the core that's glowing. It's molten graphite. Graphite was used in that type of reactor as a moderator.

  • Apparently the guy was talking about the amber glow from the reactor core. You can see it in the last few seconds of the video.
