well i for one have been training for seven years (although in only one school) and thing his technique is beautiful, flowing, and looks perfectly worthy of nidan.

It is Ki Aikido. The school is independent. The teacher was a student of Ken Williams of the Ki Society of Great Britain before breaking away after a disagreement.
As is always the case, the primary casualty of politics in martial arts is the quality of the tuition and practice.

wich school of aikido is that? is not aikika or yonshinkan. ecc...it seems ki aikido but it isn't....

Watch "Aikido Aaron Villa Nidan Test ". Watch all parts> This is the average if not EXCELLENT performance on a nidan test.

@aikikai17 Tori's techniques were certainly sharp. But i don't see any evidence uke was in anyway trying to make life hard for tori.
In the first set of techniques tori stands up right in front of uke. Does that not leave tori exposed? The first technique in the second set looks like total waffle and things are slowing down quite a bit. The initial burst of enthusiasm is suddenly gone and tori is looking tired. Why?
Frankly it's too easy to be severely critical over the web. Have a nice day.

@aikikai17 I also just noticed tori isn't being told which techniques to perform. Only the form/attack is being called out. Tori is picking his own techniques and is only performing them on one side. Unfortunately there are right handed and left handed people in the world.

@aikikai17 I did watch all parts. As I said. It's easy to be critical over the web.

NO WAY in hell a 2nd dan test. This guy put no effort and didnt even seem to care toward's the end. he had his back exposed to uke about 3 times. Where's the atemi?? Where's the "martialness"??? Failed 8:09+. What the hell was that?? Zombie koyoku?? I trained in 4 schools withing 7 years(currently training in School #4) and none of my sensei's would have never let me get pass 4th kyu performing like this. This is beyond the damage of politics.

@aikikai17 why 4 schools in 7 years? Do you move around a lot? As I said to Shinaikido. Do a little reading and you'll find your answers.
