The Winnemem Wintu tribe are traveling to New Zealand to conduct ceremony for our fish that are now in the Rakaia River.
In 1875, salmon eggs from the Winnemem tribe's river (the McCloud, in northern California) were sent to New Zealand. Since then the Winnemem's salmon are thriving in Rakaia River, while the McCloud has no salmon, due to the Shasta Lake Dam.
If justice and sanity prevail, the Winnemem's salmon will be allowed to return to their home river.
I hope you go back with what you come for. :)
Best of luck.

I live in Christchurch New Zealand, the closest city to the Rakaia River which I have fished before although unlucky to have caught one of your salmon yet, It will be an honour to have you in our country, may you enjoy your stay here.

fished the mccloud many times. never knew there used to be salmon. What I would have given to see these rivers when there were no dams
