  • Hit the State in Their pocketbook!

I think the bars should pull their lottery out in protest!

Casinos are Workplaces! This law is no good!

  • I do not lie. In fact, you should go beyond your fav bars to neighborhood ones that look the other way on bar smoking bans, and(hint) don't always have people outside smoking. In fact, I'm sure at least a few in Mpls went smoke-free, before that local ban took effect. There still are many places looking the other way on Illinois' ban, even 2 years later.

Google Smoke Choke Ohio if you want to see how OH's ban is still defied. Remember, SHS indoor air quality is well above OSHA standards!

  • You are a liar! I actually live in Minneapolis. The bars here are thriving. You hear very few bar owners whine about the ban.

Nobody in states that have already banned smoking whines as much as you twits in Michigan are.

  • Ah, antis love brainwashed fools like you. If bans are great, why did they cause a near-total demise in 4th floor bars/restaurants at Mall of America in the Twin Cities, not to mention over 130 businesses that shuttered in that metro area after local bans pre-dating MN's ban started? Why do Colorado and Illinois casinos still suffer, particularly IL ones that took a 20%+ decline? Finally, why do many bars in cities w/bar bans still defy them?

Isn't it time to wake up and smell the lies?

  • There are lots of laws that private business needs to follow.

There is nothing wrong with that. Business cannot and history proves they will not govern themselves

LMFAO! Good luck with that libertarian thing! Your opinions are so unpopular that you got less than 1/2 of a percent of the 08 votes!

What you ignorantly ignore is that after Mpls and NY went smoke free, business in bars and restaurants went UP.

  • What you have done here is very simple... you have said that the government can tell a private business that they cannot choose for themselves whether to allow or prohibit a LEGAL activity inside their private establishment.

You must also be aware that after Windsor went smoke-free, business increased 30% at the Detroit casinos. (which is why you didn't ban that, because you need taxes)

Please stop trying to people from their own choices.

    Voting Libertarian (again) next year.
