  • @malkinmario I completely agree. Mary, for me, was her most amazing with the final helium album & her first two solo records on matador.

I feel like Timony is such a completely expressive & unique musician, she needs

to either be the leader (Helium) or a solo artist.

  • i absolutely LOVE this song!

  • @malkinmario I'm sorry you feel that way. I saw Wild Flag this week and they were awesome. It looks like Mary and Carrie have an equal partnership, and both look invigorated to be working with one another. I hope you take a look at Carrie's lyrics because she is a brilliant writer. I also met Carrie and Janet of Sleater and I thought they were both very nice - I carried on individual conversations with them and both were appreciative and thoughtful. And that is hard on tour!

  • @malkinmario I completely agree, Mary is too unique to not be a solo artist/leader.

Helium & her first two solo albums were amazing.

  • OK folks I stumbled across Wild Flag in Rolling Stone mag and checked it out. I thought cool Mary Timony with the sleater girls. BUT lets face it Mary is on a different plane than Carrie. No offense. I'm not trying to offend anyone but Mary transcends and hit's me in the heart and the gut in one swoop. Carrie hits me in some pretentious non existant non relevant land of BORING.

  • moar cowbell

  • midi handclaps!

  • Ahhh, remember getting a Matador Records sampler CD out of the free bin at Wuxtry records in the late 90's... my introduction to this band/song, Pavement, JSBX, Cat Power, Chavez and a host of other great 90's bands.

    Good times.
