I shot this video at Congress Woman Maxine Waters Heath Care Town Hall Meeting today. She does a good job of outlining what they're working on. This is part 2 of 2. In another 2-part video, I'll show some of the questions and answers. It looks like we'll never have single payer healthcare, but she says she is insisting that there be a public option. There weren't any of the Tea Party protesters at this meeting. I think they're scared to go into the city.
@librophile that's basically what the left accuses the right of everyday dipshit.

"F*ck the government, they never done sh*t for me
For my people their defeat is a victory
The man wants the whole world under his thumb,
Plunders the globe and tries to buy us off with the crumbs
Thats not your flag, not your government
Not your war, not your President
Now is not the time to be silent
Raise your voices, raise your fist
Against the real terrorist Uncle Sam." --Van Jones

I think the general welfare clause is about the welfare of the union as an entity nor did I refer to healthcare as a right, because I know it is not. You are right about the neccessary & proper clause though.

The neccessary & proper is pretty specific and never mentions healthcare, so you must think that the general welfare is about the individual...it is not...it says the "general Welfare of the United States" not of its citizens. This section is refering to the elfare of the union the country as a whole entity, Individual rights are in the Bill of Rights.

State govt & local govt, not a centralized federal govt. I am open to states discussing their own insurance options no fed govt option. tort reform, HSA's, insurance portabilty, insurance sales across state lines..all good ...fed govt option...bad

ahhh...the often qouted seldom understood neccessary & proper clause. If you read the comments I already stated someone would say it.

necessary and proper & general welfare clauses

Besides the obvious fact that federal govt healthcare is unconstitutional. How do you expect to pay for it? What makes you think that it will be run effectively and efficiently? There are ways to address our current healthcare problems however a fed. govt option is the very worst method I could possibly imagine.

I am a conservative. But I have never opposed government role's in our daily lives.
I think we need a strong and accountable government, not a weak and invisible government.
I support public option like the 70% of the mainstream American who are willing to shoulder this obligation.
This item I have to stand with the Democrats against these private issuers that are full of greed.
