After getting a replacement modem for my friend, we decided to smash up his old temperamental SmartAX modem to relieve some of the stress it caused :)

(yes i am aware that one bit becomes out of sync with the music, but the clips were so small, my laptop couldnt keep up with the rapid changes)

  • Look at the inside of the modem, it has a Conexant/Globespan GS8120 chip, that chip sucks ass.

Now there are a new revised version that uses a "Trendchip" chipset and works better.

Anyways, don't ever buy huawei, it's just crap on a fancy case. You can't be sure on any model what kind of crap it has inside.

  • yeah, the newer talktalk supplied modems have trendchip inside. still not great though. cant beat a good broadcom chip :p

  • These modems are fucking useless thank fuck im going with another isp soon so i can have a brand new router.

  • @AbsolutelyBaked or you could just use a different router? or get one of the new ones from TT. they are only £30.

seriously, you can use whatever router you want

  • if anyone has talktalk broadband and wants help with opening nat for xbox live then message me on youtube or xbox live (ETERNAL NEMISIS)-Gamertag.

  • @manu1469 there are a bunch of different routers talktalk supply and have supplied... are you sure you can portforward/configure upnp/configure dmz on all of them?

  • When I was with TalkTalk they promised me a super-duper N router and supplied me with a Huawei. That router went at least as fast as a tortoise.

  • no me parese muy divertido

  • ah right cheers mate
