Live performance of the beautiful little song 'Things I Remember', which was originally written by Harry Muskee and Eelco Gelling back in 1966. It appeared as the opening track on their first LP Desolation which later on, won them an Edison award.
This recording was made for the project 'Back Home'. Which was set up to honour Muskee's 70th birthday on the 10th of june 2011. The sixties/ garagerockers De Keefmen (who are from the same provence as Cuby and the Blizzards) only need 1m 40s to finish this energetic song (the original takes 1m 55s).
De Keefmen also played this song live during their show at the GROETEN UIT GROLLOO FESTIVAL, where they btw also played LSD (Got a Million Dollar) which was the 2nd single of C+B!
The video starts and ends with a small interview with the singer songwriter of De Keefmen (sorry this is in dutch). To skip this and just listen to their version of the song go to minute 1m 15s!
Used live gear (all original):
Guitar: Hopf Saturn (1963)
Bass: Eko Barracuda (1965)
Drums: Ludwig snare (1965)
THINGS I REMEMBER - CUBY + BLIZZARDS (Lyrics)
Dancin' in the street
All the people looking at me
They're gazin' at the things
That I wear, yeah that I wear long, long, long
Sittin' in a cafe
Yeah the moons a little bit further no
They don't mind the troubles
That I bare, that I bare, yeah, yeah, yeah
But someday, when the sky is bright and clear
I'm gonna wear a smile and they can hear me crying
People I love you, I love you, I love you no
But mankind never understand
I'm still standing here with both of my hands
To the sky, to the sky, to the sky
To the sky lord
You didn't explain yourself
You didn't worry
You didn't explain yourself
You didn't care 4x
Oooooooh...aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!
You didn't care
You didn't worry
You didn't explain yourself...
