  • Brilliant! VERY useful and can imagine that since they brought out the LION version that needs min 2 GB your hits have gone thru the roof! weldone! THANK YOU

  • @arosemeyer Please make sure you have a Intel Core 2 Duo, and not the Intel Core Duo. While it doesn't seem like much, one is 32 bit and the other is 64 bit. OS X Lion will not work on the Intel Core Duo.

  • If anyone can help me out, i just wanted to know is it any ddr3 ram that can be installed on mac mini model a1283, if not which specific ones can be installed i was thinking it might be 1066, if so where are they sold by this time. I know theres alot of better computer specs out there now with i7 etc but i just love how its so quite :).

  • @mistgun119 You may want to download a free application called "MacTracker". Its very very useful and lists every mac ever made and updates all the time. For some reason it won't let me link it on here, but you can search it in google no problems.

    Hope that helps.

  • SSOOO old!

  • what kind/size screwdriver do i need?

  • hi there, i think as it is an old machone its core1 and seems to work real fine and fast now!

  • @tshirtjohn Computers will show 4GBs of RAM if you install the correct type, however, if you really want to know what your computer is actually running: run the Activity Monitor applications. That will show what its truly using. The other application, you have to download, but its called MacTracker, and that will show "actual" vrs "apple" max ram amounts. Your mac mini will actually use 3GBs of ram.

  • @mooseboy18 Correct, you do need to be careful... Please note that there are several different versions of Mac Mini, and in some cases its much easier to disconnect the ribbon. Caution is always advised.
