  • In my view, the best version ever and I've heard most of them. But, of course, it's entirely a matter of personal preference and I wouldn't want to take anything away from the many great singers - Irish and other - who've tackled this fabulous song over the years. Can anyone point me in the direction of a recording of Mary Black's version? I'd love to get hold of one but, as far as I can see, she's never officially recorded the song.

  • I am a Luke-Kelly-Fan as well! Nevertheless is he not the only one in the world, that can sing classical irish songs as they should be. So please let there be more tolerance and benevolence to other interprets ...

  • Who are the people in the photos?

  • Beautiful-Thankyou x

  • Raglan road has many memories......me, one of them.....no one special, really, except I am another ghost of Love.

  • Lets say I am since a week or two a fan of May Black (I am Dutch and that is probably the reason I had never heard of here before, but is never to late for good things).

  • wouldnt it be great to hear Mary and Luke sing it together?

  • Where's Mary from?

  • Several years ago when I first heard this song on a Chieftains album, I was searching my mind for where I heard this before...having not previously heard a recording. I finally deferred to my Mother and asked if Daddy had ever sung "Raglan Road." At 80+ years old, my Mother replied "your Father stood in the kitchen doorway and sang this after your sister's wedding (1971). Each time I listen to this song, it gives me chills, smiles and fond memories of my Dad even to this day.

  • her voice is very pretty, i would actually would have liked to hear the pouges sing this song..

  • Such a sweet song... ;)
