On January 12, 2011, I had the wonderful experience of flying in a private turbo-prop plane at the invitation of Dr. Ian Blair Fries... a well known Orthopaedic Surgeon, airplane pilot, and avid accordion player and enthusiast... to Mesa, Arizona from Wall, New Jersey to attend the 2011 Frank Marocco Accordion Event (FMAE). We departed from the Monmouth Executive Airport in Wall, NJ at 1:30p.m. (delay due to heavy snowfall the night before and it took till 1:30 for the runway to be plowed) on our first leg of the trip with a flight plan filed for Spirit of St. Louis Airport, just outside of St. Louis, MO in Chesterfield, Missouri.

  • I'm sorry.... :<( this was the only video I made as it was my only trip in this aircraft. I returned to New York via commercial airline as the pilot.owner of the TBM850 (Dr. Fries) went directly to his Florida home after our accordion gathering in Phoenix. I'll bet that this becomes a very popular aircraft in Brazil....

  • I would like to say, I like your video, where are the rest? I get some time in a friends 850 here in Brazil once in a while, in the right seat, but still great. I got in at your website and read the story of your trip. Seems trip was good, and I bet you all had a great time in Phoenix. Our son attended Emry Riddle near there, and now flies the bigger ones for American. But as you say, they view out the front is the best. OK, and trip home, and rest of them? I will be waiting. Well done.

  • This is such a great aircraft, and now starting to really take hold here in Brazil. Thank you for posting, and well done. Look forward to others.
