Small tantalum caps will heat up very fast!

The size of the components and the material is a factor also. connectors with plastic bodies will melt if your not careful.

It rather depends on whether you want good clean pure 10 watts or a shitty Radio Shack / Tandy / Amstrad 10 Watts - huge difference my friend. Its because they physically move electrons through space rather than a solid material. Ever wondered why tube or valve amps always sound better especially at the bottom end, than the modern solid-state stuff ? Thats why valves are making a comeback, although they never really went away
