It is a modified axle from a small chinese ATV. The adapter I made to lengthen it from the middle is made from 1/8" thick 1x1" angle iron welded onto the axle. The bearing housing from the ATV was cut in half, repositioned appropriately on the axle then welded together using a 1/4" thick 2x2" angle iron.
This axle later suffered unrepairable damage after hitting a deep pot-hole at speed. A replacement is ordered and on the way.
