@ematj actually it's a free lunch concert in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. It's sort of a concert but is really treated as a public rehearsal.
-
@ambro1750 than why would there be so many people in the audience and why wouldn't just stop when she realized she was wrong. definitely a concert.
-
@ematj This is not a recording from the concert methinks, Chailli is wearing a towel around his neck....

this is amazing! but how could she not know what they were playing? Didn't they has a general repetition or something?

3. In Classical music, MANY rehearsals take place without discussion or meeting prior to being onstage. 4. Contracts are not that interesting for many artists (that's why they have managers). 5. This genius player knows and plays MANY of the 27 Mozart piano concerti. Watch and listen with your ears (NOT your eyes) at what goes on here!!

I don't think this is authentic. First of all, what about her contract? Second, why was there a cameraman (or woman) placed exactly in the location where they could get "reaction" shots, and last, who wears a green sports shirt while conducting a performance? For a film scene, it is dramatic though!

I totally agree with flutist218, that's a terrible trick to play on a soloist. She is truly amazing for being able to pull it off at all. He should be ashamed of himself instead of bragging on Youtube.
This superb conductor gave such confidence to the soloist by speaking to her in such affirming and positive tones combined with her amazing brain, which he pays tribute to, if you care to listen, got back on track – with a little help from Mr. Mozart who gives a long intro and plenty clues as to where and how to come in. Fascinating moment of reality! AND she lived to tell the tale without aging one bit!

To the cynics here..... You all need to be aware of some facts! This IS authentic! 1. There was a docu being filmed – hence cameras 2. This is an open rehearsal which happens in the Concertgebouw – other orchestras hold such informally dressed rehearsals.
