The shortwave radio station WBCQ is looking into a wood fired steam turbine to make the electric power to run the station.
Might want to check with them to see what's up.

This is an Elliott "AY" Turbine Unit. It is special as the Inlet is on the Left hand side. These are Low Horsepower Turbines and typically drive lube oil pumps. The Pitch Diameter of the Wheels is 14.5 Inches. The shaft coupling Journal diameter is 1.375, Carbon Journal and wheel journal diameter is 2.000, and the shaft overall length is 27.937. It has the original "Flyweight" type Governor. The casing has a 6" 125# exhaust Flange. 4 Carbon Rings per Box

It is a very old Elliott turbine. Size looks like a byr, but with the left side inlet it was special made. I rebuild Elliott turbines for a living and had to research to find one with this configuration.

Put a pretty interesting vid on then won't respond to any quieries or questions by interested viewers, bit of a waste of your time isn't it?.

It looks like an Elliott Y line which puts the original manufacture date between 1928 and 1948.

Elliott steam turbine, probably used to generate electricity in a steam locomotive.

Interesting. Is this a Soule' steam engine? If not what type is it?
It is an Elliott. I couldn't tell you what model it is. Someone just had it at Soule Festival, not related to the business itself.
