we in 2011 and that beat is fire. I work with reason and i love it. I have a mpd 18 and alesis q49 keyboard and i love making my music with all of my propellerhead softwares. I'm thinking of buying a mpc5000 but now skeptical. I keep hearing mpc5000 can't sample in 24 bit only 16 bit something like that. I also found out that the 4000 work better and have more advantage than the mpc5000. Anyone let me know if some of this stuff is true or not. peace

@jgatlin77 Mostly just use 3rd party VST's with FL studio. Though I've become more interested in live performance, I use ableton now. Were I just programming songs, I would still use FL studio. If I were recording live music I would probably use protools, but I think it kinda blows for electronic music. I dunno just my opinion. Reason is a cool setup for someone that just wants to sit down and have fun and is familiar with a rack setup though. just seems limiting

@grenadezeroone meh i'm not really a cpu producer for the most part i bought and or chopped my own drums that i load into my mpc and i chop samples that i bought from record stores from time to time i make original shid on reason or i ask one of my other producers who actually play multiple instruments in REAL life to whip somethin up.... FL studio sounds are just jokes hahahaha and u can tweak the reason sounds to make into your own so idk if that copyright bullshit applies

@jgatlin77 uh thats because FL studio is inherently a sampler. You shouldn't be using any of those sounds to begin with thats just cheap. Furthermore, many of the preloaded sounds are actually copyrighted (believe it or not) I should hope you're using FL studio with your own samples and VST's with custom settings. otherwise you're fake as fuck

@grenadezeroone i have fl 8 and 9... reason 4 and an mpc 500.... fl studio is BULLshit compared to reason dude... the sounds are fake as fuck it sounds like some faggot on w.o.w. made em while he was killin a dragon or some shit! reason is the REAL DEAL dude... they sample that shit from REAL instruments... and the mpc 500 is my baby that i use to put the drums down....
