Sheriff Lawrence Stelma, Sheriff of Kent County, Michigan has lied to the community and in the guise of "saving money" destroyed a unit that has been around since 1911. The sheriff had made this move based completely on politics within the department and had no basis to scrap the Reserve Unit that has served the community with pride and distinction for so many years. The sheriff should be run out of office for this absolute violation of the community trust.
