We have some of these at the south side of our pond in the shade. It works real well for us. Also works fantasticaly fast for mosquito bites, (I get great big welts) and it also works great on stinging nettle and chigger bites and other insect bites and stings. I also had a tick bite that itched something fears, put some on it and the itch stopped within 2 min. FANTASTIC PLANT

Hey man, thanks for the good info. I actually have a very keen eye for poison ivy, oak, sumac, I clear it from my property quite often, and havent had it in years, but like you said, its harder to identify in the winter, and night, and these tips are great for friends who need it. Some may not know (im not sure myself),but I've heard if you burn the vines, dont inhale the smoke it's toxic as well. btw does jewelweed grow in florida too?

@FLAGGEDbyU2 Sorry but I just now read your comment... I grew up on the Georgia Coast... and I don't remember ever seeing it there... But it certainly has a chance around areas that are moist and shady... and Florida has plenty of that...

Thanks Finch... This one was an easy one... and certainly worth sharing with your friends...
If you hear of someone who is not friendly having a dose of poison ivy... certainly don't share this remedy, but offer your sincere condolences for their rash!

hey how long take to heal?
TheWickedmen 2 years ago
It stops the itching almost immediately for me... and everything will be gone in a day or so... but then I use it early... I would imagine the older sores would take longer to heal...
