@alibugbug thats called a human. probably a deranged one if they were screaming.

For the first time tonight we hear these same screams. We never had foxes here until about two years ago when one ran right through the front yard and what was really funny was my cat was chasing it. Not long after I was able to get photos of it laying down in my back yard. Then I got a few more photos of it running around playing.

Fox come out at night and since most humans are in bed they arent guna be scared to roam thru yards and a college campus

Im listening to that exact sound, and ive seen quite a few fox around the area that ive heard thay sound so I agree its a fox, and fox are not affraid to come up to areas where humans hav been because the college I work for has a dorm right where I found thw den of fox pups last summer along with houses

ok i woke up to this sound and got the crap scared out of me. so i took a flash light and went outside (probably not the best of choices...) and i didnt see anything so i was thinking a bobcat or fox.

I heard this for the first time a few days ago. It happened around 2 AM and I went outside to see what it was. I cought its eyes in the beam of my flashlight and she froze. My German Shepard tok advantage of this and was able to catch her from the side. She had no idea he was there until he hit her in full stride. It was very interesting for a few seconds until she finally got away. I was shocked that she came back the next night.

I love foxes
My sister was attacked last night in a suburb in Illinois by some sort of screaming animal/whatever. The scream was consistent, and when it attacked her, it hit her in the elbow, and had enough force to knock her onto her flat on her face. She said she didn't feel any fur on her elbow when it hit, so that worried me, and there's the simple fact that any predator would have been silent approaching her, and wouldn't stop attacking. I don't think this was an animal, as the scream was continous.
