Interlaken (Switzerland) hosts the Unspunnenfest, a truly Alpine event dedicated to the humble cowherd. Three days of traditional costumed dancing, stone throwing, yodelling and more.

  • is this in french/german/italian?

  • From Wiki: Yodeling (or yodelling, jodeling) is a form of singing that involves singing an extended note which rapidly and repeatedly changes in pitch from the vocal chest register (or "chest voice") to the head register (or "head voice"), making a high-low-high-low sound. In Alpine folk music, it was probably developed in the Swiss Alps as a method of communication between mountain peaks, later becoming part of the region's traditional music. Hope you like it! Michael

  • im swiss and live in america it is sooo nice to hear this again

  • In Swiss -- it is probably neither a real "Sprache" language -- but a series of extended notes with a Swiss Dialect of sorts...
