@kbirdusa I agree, seems like the writing changed after Gloria and the "meathead" left the show. ..But I still loved it to the end.

That kind of thinking would be considered rather pigheaded by today's standards. Men have wised up to the fact that women can be just as useful as men, and sometimes more so. In many ways, today's men have turned into the "meatheaded Liberals" Archie loved to make light of.

@gameshowluvr86 He was a good husband working with a bad mindset -- You can't be raised in a world with such old school ideals and still be "good" by modern standards -- the series does a good job (especially at the end) of showing how much he loved her, but you have to understand that the Husband-Wife dynamic was a lot different back in those days before calling him a jerk.

Archie was a good husband. He worked every day, never hit her, and never cheated on her. And he would've killed anybody who messed with her.

i know this is random but she would be amazing playing minnie mouse with that voice! =P

Archie was a fuckin' D00CHE... He so deserved that verbal flogging.

Just give her, her mad money. She's flipped enough pancakes and toasted enough bread to earned it.

I'm trying to figure out who was more brilliant in this scene - Jean Stapleton or Carroll O'Connor. Their brilliant performances helped carry the sometimes-weaker writing in the final season.
