  • those are wood countertops from ikea....butcherblock?....if so i saw the L shape in the corner is not cut at an angle at the corner but just butted up to each other ...it looks fine to me but is this normal because i might do it myself and was afraid to cut that angle which was influencing my doin it...

  • @candided Hello - yes they are butcher block from IKEA. It is more common to have the 45 degree cut/angle @ the corner. It does take however about +25 inches or so more material to do it that way. The other challenge is cutting that angle in a solid oak top @ 1.25" thick. It takes very exacting precision to make the seam tight. I can assure you, it's not as easy as one might think. For these reasons, the customer chose this route. For the money, it doesn't look to bad even if w/ the but joint.

  • Your kitchen looks great, what did you use on the floors? You said it's a laminate? Brand/style? It doesnt look like a laminate, does it look so real in person?

  • @androy23 Greetings! Check out HomeLegend . com - navigate to 'products' then to laminate flooring. In this kitchen space is the piano finished pecan natural. It's actually a decent product and does look quite nice in person. Prior to installation, all pieces/material was 'pre-sorted' in an effort to avoid repetition and 'map out' a realistic look. It also helped that we purchased a couple extra boxes to have more control over pattern. Should still be available @ Home Depot (via special order).
