In this segment number 6 of CUT BACK: facing ageism we asked what were some stereotypes that relate to ageism. Some of the myths: loosing their minds, can't hear, outdated, roller sets, sick often, not quick, trouble integrating. Expert, Paul Arfin, from Intergenerational Strategies says that there is a negative perception of the older worker. We need to keep relations between generations together. Society is hurt when that breaks down. Sometimes people in our age don't help it. Aren't we supposed to be taken on our individual merit in this country? People keep up to date. "We don't turn stupid when we turn 50 years old."
Featuring: Street interviews in Denver, CO, James Lansing, Paul Arfin and Tom Farley
