Here is the first shop setup footage. Just got the wind hooked up and MIDI playing the Diapason for testing. More to come after the console is hooked up.

  • I think midi ruines the pipeorgan

  • @MrBarryknoll MIDI is only a tool and can be used in good and bad ways. Used to replace an organist is not good. Used as a teaching aid or to demonstrate an in-progress rebuild hardly destroys the integrity of pipe organs, but thanks for commenting.

  • that was a nice tune.

I understand what midi is but how does it play the organ notes? Are there solenoids + what interface do you use?

    thanks

  • @paulfreefall Hi, the MIDI from the laptop feeds and ancient Dextronics MIDI-to-solenoid driver. It has 3 61 note boards each responding to MIDI on ch1, ch2, and ch3. Normally they are set up as Great, Swell and Pedal but I had them driving Diapason, Flute and String ranks instead. There are a million pipe-MIDI boards on the web for cheap money.

  • Whatare the names of all the Stops in the organ

  • Diapason, Gedeckt, Gamba and Dulciana.
