We should absolutely celebrate Columbus Day because it's a celebration of the Old World merging with the new - The Columbian Exchange.
He was a flawed man who did some very bad things. But if you want to judge by today's standards, then no one would pass muster. We couldn't celebrate Washington, Jefferson, or Lincoln.
