The Teutonic Tronmeister himself, Klaus Hoffmann-Hoock, introduces in various films the vast possibilities of the new digital Tron: The Mighty MEMOTRON. Having provided the world with excellent Tron samples (M-Tron, Mellozone...) from his huge collection of 51 Mellos and about 140 tape frames, Klaus presents the ultimate Tron, the MEMOTRON.

  • isn't there a version of these video with subtitles?

  • Presently not but there are plans for an English version.

  • Isn't this just basically an overpriced sampler? What can this do that a $200 midi-controller keyboard and Mellotron samples on a computer can't?

  • No, the Memotron is a real high class instrument with a huge and still expanding library of excellent sounds. Users are Rick Wakeman, Oasis (9 Memotrons!), Jean Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Air, Dream Theatre... Do you think that those musicians who played the originals for ages would go for a cheap fake keyboard that only looks like a real Tron? For sure not.

It has the flair, the feel and the sounds of the real Mellotron but without its faults, weight and hassle. Try it out and be amazed!

  • Yes, it really is fantastico what this instrument does!

  • @pausebeforeviewtube No they don't ! you cannot tell the difference stop pretending you can. fuck there is always one of you wankers in every crowd !

  • I love the way this guy demonstrates this thing. It's sehr cool und relaxing.

  • The memotron sounds a little brighter

  • The Memotron is superb, the note even cuts out after 8 secs to recreate the tape length in the real thing, so you have to "spider" your fingers just like playing a real Mellotron. I've used countless sample disks all claiming the real deal sound in my SY85, but nothing comes close to the sound of this Memotron.

  • They sound slightly different; though the Memotron is close enough for most artist's purposes. The melody you played at the end sounds like Tangerine Dream's "Mysterious Semblance at the Strand of Nightmares"; as you probably know, they used a Mellotron in that song and many of their other works. How much does Mellotron cost?
