It's official I have become a bird nerd. They are so interesting to watch. These are screen shots of a live cam. The nest is on a lake west of us.

Go visit them,
http://www.suttoncenter.org/eaglecam.html

If the camera has gone black check back later, it will be up again soon. :) Usually best time to see it is 08:00 to about 20:30.

On the 15th of April they actually were feeding the baby a small duck! The website said Papa Eagle even brought in a coot for him to eat. [Which looks like a big duck to me?] http://i1.treknature.com/photos/7669/1119_006_coot.jpg Whatda I know about birds? But we have enjoyed watching them care for the baby and hunt. They have been busy building up the nest to make the rim higher. She had an old egg in there from that we saw on the 14th of April and it was pushed around the nest through out the day. Then on the 15th a new egg appeared in the evening and she seemed to be sitting on it? I don't think it is the old rotten one.

  • wow beautiful I am a bird nerd too

  • Yay! For bird nerds! I am a full fledged member of the club. The people who worked to get that perch up and cameras are wonderful. The camera is up and live right now, but the baby is sleeping, mom and dad most likely perched over head or flying in a goat to feed him. This afternoon they had a snake in there, a fish, and unidentified fuzzy critter parts.

  • majestic creatures.... bird nerd... I like that! fish on friday was a great comment too, hehe :)

  • They really are amazing, It all started with wild bird feeders now this! I am a bird nerd. :)

We see eagles often flying around the river & the lakes, but to see them so close up has me really intrigued by how they care for the baby. I am waiting for them to fly in a horse, a goat, or a cow or something to feed him. They have really big appetites! They aren't going to let him go hungry. :)

  • Neat. Reality YT :)

Eagles nursing their young is not something you see every day. Thanks. Peace.

  • We have been amazed at how much they feed the little one, it really is a treat to see them.. Peace

  • These are Catholic eagles. We saw them eating fish on Friday. Peace

  • I want people to know that Fama has watched these eagles for 3 days. I actually thought at one time she was going to climb the tree and help the mother eagle repair the nest:) GBU
