ＦＸ５０のエンジンを小さなフレームに載せ変えて誕生した、ＦＴ５０の後継モデルがＧＴ５０。兄貴分である「ＧＴ８０」は同じフレームに７３ｃｃのピストンリードバルブの­エンジンを搭載したモデル。ＧＴシリーズは「ミニトレ」の愛称で親しまれ、買い物からツーリング、モトクロスごっこまでこなして幅広い層に人気があった。約１０年間も生産­され、その中で３つの大きなマイナーチェンジを受けた。最終型は５速ミッション、アルミのボトムケース、角パイプスイングアームと豪華な装備となり、現代のマシンと比べて­も遜色なく、今売られていても十分人気の出そうなモデルである。

fmxgeek i sprayed wd40 on mine and let is sit for a while then got a screw driver and put it into one of notches and hit it with a hammer a few times and it came loose
