This is part 1 of a video showing you the work I've done so far on a route planned to go from Old Saybrook, CT to both Grand Central Terminal and Penn Station in New York. This video shows the track work I've done from Old Saybrook to New Haven. IMO, it looks good but the only thing that boggles me is that although I measured everything to make sure the length of the route was correct, a trip from OSB to NHV on this track only takes 13 minutes but an Amtrak trip between these stations take 30 minutes. Now there is probably 1 minute of this route missing in this video because I was having problems with Fraps. If you can figure out why the route is short please tell me becaused I actually measured how many track lengths made up a mile on the default NEC route. It's not adding up to me. Anyway, enjoy the video.

  • When are you going to have this route done by...I would love a copy of it.

  • My rough estimate is October. The track work can probably be done in 2 months or so but then there's the scenery work. That could take a while. Hopefully I can get it out earlier though.

  • i'd like a copy of this route as well...when its done, will you be putting it on the train-sim website?

  • Yes. :D

Depends on the settings - you can save AVIs in movie maker - though that should be clear by the ginormous file size.

I do understand why people save in wmv, I personally dislike ti though - too much quality loss in most of the settings... just wish Youtube could up the upload size and length restriction.

  • Open up Windows Movie Maker, put the AVI file in there, and save it. It will them be in WMV form. :)

  • Um... I used fraps, and it came out as an .avi file

  • What did you use to record it?
