Aoun defending the Syrian regime

In these clips, General Michel Aoun, who was fiercely anti-Syrian till May 2005, defends the Syrian regime.
"It's not Syria that crushed us (in 1990). It's USA and Israel who crushed us by giving the green light, France remained silent, then Chirac surpassed them all and supported the fait accompli".

When talking about the Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs Walid el Mouallem who has been praising him, he says : "Walid Mouallem" then corrects himself " Mister Walid Mouallem".

"The Americans want the void in Lebanon and NOT the Syrians".

"MAYBE there are a few Syrians, but not on the high level, who MAYBE dream of coming back to Lebanon. But the Syrian leadership has understood that it's something impossible."

When asked if Lebanon shouldn't ask for compensations for all the atrocities that the Syrians have committed, he answers : "we must prosecute the Lebanese who were in power. Then proudly : " Just one of them, the former Minister and actual deputy Michel el Murr (his ally since 2005) has apologized" !

"There is no Syrian infiltration of the (Lebanese) Security Services. When the Government members talk about an infiltration, they are supporting Syria to come back to Lebanon (!!!). Leave Syria alone".
